Settlers Bush is home to some of Taranaki’s original native trees, including a Puriri, believed to be over 1000 years old. Native birds, owls and moreporks flourish in this environment.

It was also home to some of New Plymouth’s first families, who have cherished the environment for a hundred and fifty years and lovingly protected the vast areas of native foliage.

The Megaw family has completed mass plantings of further trees and plants to ensure the future of the bush and preserve the unique habitat, choosing more of the area’s natural vegetation, including Matai, Rimu, Totara and Puriri trees.

The subdivision has been designed carefully around the large tracts of original native forest and bush. The development is punctuated with new plantings and stands of existing original trees and plants.

The sense of history here is irresistible and the environment is exquisite.
